Projects

My intention for this fashion photography project was to tell a story and show style and presence in the most creative and natural, unpretentious way possible- I was not doing public relations photography or location scouting, I was simply having fun out on the campus of Fayetteville State University shooting looks, in different locations, in natural light, and photos that used a range of angles trying to photograph the outfits in a completely different way. The idea was to bring out the confidence, attitude, and spirit of the model and visually show the clothing's physically captured story in each moment in time. I tried to document in a dynamic, fun, informal way that also highlighted the location but also the fashion and energy vibe from each location.

This project provided me more than just a chance to increase my confidence as an artists in this field by encouraging self-reflection on the values of composition, light and directing a model, but also a creative opportunity to push boundaries in my thinking and experiment with all the creative ways I could practice a professional look, in hopes to have each photo feel fresh and unique. In photographic terms this project allowed me the opportunity to merge my passion for photography with an interest in fashion, while still being free to express myself creatively.
